Notes

'Compactum' European cranberrybush (Viburnum opulus 'Compactum') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. It grows 48 to 72 inches tall and wide with an arching shape, and it tolerates drought. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Siberian iris, and Ostrich fern.
