Notes

'Compactum' oregano (Origanum vulgare 'Compactum') is a herb for containers, rock gardens, borders, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its fragrant stems cascade, spread 12 to 24 inches, and tolerate drought. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn.

Pairs well with Lamb’s ear, Lavender cotton, Hardy geranium, and Creeping thyme.
