Notes
'Jim Best' oregano (Origanum vulgare 'Jim Best') is an herb for rock gardens, pollinator gardens, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil. It grows 6 to 12 inches tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches in a cascading habit. Pale pink flowers open from mid to late summer into early autumn, and butterflies and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Cheddar pink, Hoary vervain, and Salad burnet.
