Notes

Culver's root (Veronicastrum sibiricum) is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flower arrangements. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. Tall spikes of lavender-lilac flowers open from mid to late summer and into early autumn. It grows 36 to 60 inches tall and 12 to 36 inches wide, so give it room at the back of the bed.

Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Marsh mallow, and Matrona october daphne.

Native range

North-central and northeastern Asia.
