Notes

'Cytherée' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Cytherée') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Jacques Calot bred it in 1856. The rose-pink blooms have mauve shading and crimson flecks in the center. They open in early summer on long, strong stems that hold up well in a vase.

Pairs well with Francee hosta, Miss Kim lilac, Ostrich fern, and Picture tulip.
