Notes

Daioh tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Daioh (or Daion)') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deep pink blooms with carmine-red veining open in early summer on an upright plant. The Chugai Nursery introduced it before 1940.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Jeana garden phlox, and Niobe clematis.
