Notes
'Dark Chocolate' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Dark Chocolate') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers. The plant is drought tolerant and salt tolerant, so it handles tough spots. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Bartzella peony, Caradonna sage, and Lady's mantle.
