Notes

Digger's speedwell (Veronica perfoliata) is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Its blue-gray leaves clasp the stems in opposite pairs, and lavender flower spikes open in spring. Prune only after flowering, since flowers form on last season's shoots.

Pairs well with Spider plant, Cyclamen, and Vetiver.
