Notes

'Snowflake' dog's tooth violet (Erythronium dens-canis 'Snowflake') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. White to cream flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It goes dormant before summer, so set it near late-emerging perennials like hostas and toadlilies.

Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Snowdrop, and Lenten rose.
