Notes

'Doukou Jiangnan' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Doukou Jiangnan') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early to mid spring brings pale purple, semi-double flowers about 5.5 inches wide, with purplish-pink flares at the centers. New leaves emerge deep red and mature to green with purple margins.

Pairs well with Star magnolia, Queen of Night tulip, Sedge, and Snowbrush.
