Notes

'Durango Flame' French marigold (Tagetes patula 'Durango Flame') is an annual for borders, containers, and cut flowers. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays compact at 8 to 12 inches tall and bears red, orange, and bicolor blooms that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. It sits low on the menu for deer. Drought tolerance makes it an easy pick.

Pairs well with Old Mexico zinnia, Rubenza cosmos, and Red fescue.
