Notes

'Early Queen of the Blues' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Early Queen of the Blues') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The soft blue single flowers are fragrant and open from early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms, and this early forcing bulb is drought tolerant. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Blue fescue, and Fire Island hosta.
