Notes
'Ellagance Purple' lavender (Lavandula angustifolia 'Ellagance Purple') is an herb for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The compact, well-branched plants hold a neat shape and bloom freely, which suits formal borders and cottage gardens. Butterflies and bees visit the fragrant flowers.
Pairs well with Yarrow, Rosemary, and Helene Von Stein lamb’s ear.
