Notes
'Enziandom' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Enziandom') is a shrub for cottage gardens, hedges, shade gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms from early to late summer, with deep blue flowers in acidic soil and pink flowers in alkaline soil. It grows fast to about 48 inches tall and wide. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Aureola Japanese forest grass, Autumn fern, and Lenten rose.
