Notes

'Eye Shadow' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Eye Shadow') is a perennial for rock gardens, borders, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It forms a creeping, evergreen mat that spreads 12 to 24 inches. Flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Gold dust, and Bressingham Ruby bergenia.
