Notes
Fern-leaf yarrow (Achillea filipendulina) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Yellow flowers rise above gold and green leaves and draw butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. This fast-growing clump also tolerates drought and salt.
Pairs well with Blanket flower, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Rubenza cosmos.
Native range
Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, and central Asia.
