Notes

'Firestorm' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Firestorm') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Deep red flowers open in early to late spring. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms, and the evergreen leaves keep color all year.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Fringed bleeding heart, and Smooth hydrangea.
