Notes

'Flame' peony (Paeonia 'Flame') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist soil of most types. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it, and the single red flowers are fragrant and draw butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Spiked speedwell, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
