Notes

Foothill sedge (Carex tumulicola) is a grass for borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. It stays evergreen, handles drought well, and draws butterflies and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Its clumps reach 12 to 24 inches tall and spread 24 to 36 inches wide.

Pairs well with White sage, Bay laurel, and Chocolate cosmos.
