Notes

'Frankie' clematis (Clematis 'Frankie') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its blue blooms attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. Frank Meecham bred it as a seedling of 'Alpina'. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Clematis, New Dawn rose, and Redvein enkianthus.
