Notes

'Gimlet' avens (Geum 'Gimlet') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Columbine, Masterpiece lupine, and Blue fescue.
