Notes

'Globosa Aurea' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Globosa Aurea') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen mound with fragrant foliage, and birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give it a spot where it can stay compact.

Pairs well with Stonecrop, Panicle hydrangea, and Prairie dropseed.
