Notes

'Gnom' mugo pine (Pinus mugo 'Gnom') is a shrub for borders, containers, rock gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a broad evergreen mound, so it needs little pruning. It also tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Springwood White tree heath, Midwinter Fire common dogwood, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
