Notes
'Golden Rule' St. John's wort (Hypericum calycinum 'Golden Rule') is a shrub for borders, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and spreads in a low, horizontal mat, so it fills space quickly. The evergreen leaves stay on the plant through winter. Blooms open in early to late summer and attract butterflies.
Pairs well with Hardy geranium, First Knight fountain grass, Black-eyed Susan, and Sibirica red-barked dogwood.
