Notes

'Grape Taffy' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Grape Taffy') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and wide, and it tolerates drought and salt. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms in spring and summer. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Caradonna sage, Lady's mantle, and Bartzella peony.
