Notes

'Hades' peony (Paeonia 'Hades') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Semi-double deep red flowers with maroon flares open in spring. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Nate Bremer bred it, and it grows into a tall, upright clump with dark foliage.

Pairs well with Catmint, Royal Purple smoketree, Blue fescue, and Lily.
