Notes

'Hagoromo' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Hagoromo') is an evergreen shrub for borders, hedges, containers, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a columnar shape that reaches about 6 to 8 feet tall. Bees and birds visit it, and it tolerates salt. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Mondo grass, Carolina jessamine, Green and gold, and Southern magnolia.
