Notes
'Haku-senshiu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Haku-senshiu') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Chugai introduced this cultivar. You can cut its blooms for bouquets and still enjoy it in the border. Give it a spot where it can grow in place for years.
Pairs well with Weigela, Christmas fern, Greig's tulip, and Prairie dropseed.
