Notes

'Haleigh’s Comet' peony (Paeonia 'Haleigh’s Comet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Donald Robert Smith bred it, and the semi-double, pale yellow flowers have light red flares and a mild, pleasant fragrance. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Phantom panicle hydrangea, Carlton daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
