Notes

'Hana-no-nishiki' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Hana-no-nishiki') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its flowers are rose-red, so they add strong color to a mixed bed. You can also cut the blooms for a vase indoors. Yokohama Nursery Co., Ltd introduced it in 1919.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Greig's tulip, and Sedge.
