Notes
Hart's tongue fern (Asplenium scolopendrium) is a fern for borders, containers, woodland gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. It stays evergreen, so the glossy fronds give you color all year. It grows 12 to 18 inches tall and wide. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Toad lily, Japanese forest grass, and Climbing hydrangea.
Native range
Africa and Comoros.
