Notes

Spleenwort (Asplenium ebenoides) is a fern for naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. It stays evergreen and grows 9 to 12 inches tall and wide. It sits low on the menu for rabbits. It does not flower, so you grow it for its foliage.

Pairs well with Lady in Red lady fern, Bergenia, and Palm sedge.
