Notes

'Herefordshire Russet' apple (Malus domestica 'Herefordshire Russet') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Light pink flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. The tree is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination. Hugh Ermen bred it in 2000.

Pairs well with Juneberry, Grape hyacinth, and Lingonberry.
