Notes

'Hero Orange' French marigold (Tagetes patula 'Hero Orange') is an annual for borders, containers, and cut flower gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows as a clumping mound up to 12 inches tall and blooms in orange, yellow, red, and copper tones. The fragrant flowers draw butterflies and hummingbirds, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Cosmos, Mealycup sage, and Cornflower.
