Notes

'Hetz Mid.' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Hetz Mid.') is an evergreen shrub for hedges, privacy screens, foundation plantings, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly into a dense, fragrant shape that attracts birds.

Pairs well with Limeglow creeping juniper, Big Daddy hosta, and Carlton daffodil.
