Notes

'R.J. Hilton' Allegheny serviceberry (Amelanchier laevis 'R.J. Hilton') is a tree for use as a specimen, in a border, or in a pollinator garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring and draws butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer tend to pass it by. It also tolerates salt, so you can plant it where road salt is a worry.

Pairs well with Royal fern, Red trillium, and Sedge.
