Notes

'Hino-crimson' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Hino-crimson') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Crimson red flowers open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. The leaves stay on the plant all year.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Halcyon hosta, Lady fern, and Aureola Japanese forest grass.
