Notes

'Holger' flaky juniper (Juniperus squamata 'Holger') is a shrub for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen mound that reaches 36 to 60 inches tall and wide. It sits low on the menu for deer. Give it room to spread.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Creeping phlox, and Bristlecone pine.
