Notes

'Blue Carpet' common juniper (Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet') is a shrub for ground cover, rock gardens, borders, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen mat that stays 6 to 12 inches tall and spreads 48 to 60 inches wide. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It tolerates drought once settled, so it needs little care.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Creeping phlox, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
