Notes

'Hoseri' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Hoseri') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense, fragrant evergreen that reaches 36 to 48 inches tall and wide, and birds visit it. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Hinoki cypress, Prairie dropseed, and Christmas fern.
