Notes
Hyacinth squill (Scilla hyacinthoides) is a bulb for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Each bulb sends up one tall stalk topped with 40 to 180 violet-blue flowers. They bloom from early to late spring, and the pointed leaves appear before the flowers.
