Notes

'Jacques Lebel' apple (Malus domestica 'Jacques Lebel') is a tree grown for cooking, jams, and preserves. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The apples ripen in late August or early September and keep until Christmas. 'Jacques Lebel' bred it in 1825. Bees visit the spring flowers, and a second apple variety nearby will help fruit set.

Pairs well with Flowering quince, Garlic chives, Pink Lemonade blueberry, and Burnet.
