Notes

'Jane Rutherford' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jane Rutherford') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The huge, full double flowers are pure white with a high, built center that sometimes shows red markings. Strong stems hold them up, and the foliage is good. Col. Jesse C. Nicholls bred it, and Gilbert H. Wild and Son introduced it in 1962.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Wild geranium, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
