Jim Bacon avocado

Garden uses

Notes

'Jim Bacon' avocado (Persea americana 'Jim Bacon') is a tree for the food garden, grown for its buttery green fruit. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. The fruit has medium-thin skin and ripens in December and January. It is a B Type, so plant an A Type nearby for cross pollination to get fruit on both trees.

Pairs well with Fuyu persimmon, Pomegranate, Sago palm, and Pinot Noir grape.
