Notes
'Kara Bala Miursal' pomegranate (Punica granatum 'Kara Bala Miursal') is a shrub for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for large fruit with juicy, sweet-tart arils that are great for juicing, and the fruit stores well. Orange-red blooms give it a subtropical look. It is self fertile, and you can prune it to keep it smaller than its full height.
Pairs well with Blue Chiffon rose of sharon, Blueberry, and Fountain grass.
