Notes
'Kin-ka-den' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Kin-ka-den') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are dark red to scarlet. It stays short, so it fits well near the front of a border. The Chugai Nursery introduced it in 1940.
Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, May Night salvia, and Garlic chives.
