Notes

'King James' hosta (Hosta 'King James') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average moisture. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows 24 to 30 inches tall and spreads 48 to 60 inches, so give it plenty of room. Fragrant blooms in near white to pale lavender open from early to late summer and attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees.

Pairs well with Alertie peony, Canadian white violet, and Canada wild rye.
