Notes

Korean forsythia (Forsythia ovata) is a shrub for borders, hedges, cut flowers, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Amber yellow flowers open on arching stems in early spring, and bees and birds visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Saucer magnolia, Korean spice viburnum, Blue fescue, and Greig's tulip.
