Notes

'Liberty' apple (Malus domestica 'Liberty') is a fruit tree for food gardens, pollinator gardens, and specimen planting. It is grown for fresh eating and juice. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White, fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees and butterflies. Liberty is not self-fertile, so plant another apple nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Feather reed grass, and Greig's tulip.
