Notes
'Little Gem' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Little Gem') is a shrub for specimens, rock gardens, foundation plantings, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. Deer tend to pass it by. This dense evergreen grows slowly to 12 to 36 inches tall, and its fragrant foliage attracts birds.
Pairs well with Creeping juniper, Prairie dropseed, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Christmas fern.
